ETL Developer

We are currently seeking a dynamic, team-oriented and self-motivated ETL developer to facilitate data movement across platforms.

* Create, extract, transform and load processes and programs in appropriate environments * Generate source to target maps and transformation rules for Data Mart creation * Collect appropriate metadata and document procedures * Build reconciliation procedures and data checks to ensure data quality * Design, develop and apply best practices and documentation of ETL processes * Effectively trouble shoot, debug and problem solve complex issues * Prepare technical specification documentation

**Education:** * Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science or related discipline **Required Skills:** * Experience in an ETL tool across multiple platforms * Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts, including star schemas * Proficient in SQL * Ability to mentor less experienced associates * Strong analytical and organizational skills * Ability to multitask and effectively perform multiple assignments * Effective verbal and written communication skills * Experience with conducting requirements analysis, schema design, database object creation, testing and maintenance **Experience** Qualified candidates have: * Three or more years of ETL development experience (Data Stage is preferred, but Informatica experience will also be considered) * Knowledge of multi-platform environments and languages, including Cobol, OS/390, NT, AIX,UNIX and Korn Shell scripting * Experience with DB2 UDB and Utilities * Proficiencies in multidimensional data modeling, such as star schemas, snowflakes, normalized and de-normalized models, handling slow-changing dimensions/attributes * Experience designing and developing exception handling, data standardization procedures and quality assurance controls * Skills to implement and refine required business transformation rules and logic * Experience analyzing source systems for data profiling and creation of source to target mapping specs **Preferred Skills:** * IBM Information Server (DataStage) * Progressive experience in conceptual, logical, physical data modeling; design, development and delivery of data centric IT solutions, including relational databases, data warehouses, ETL/ELT processes and reporting applications within the financial industry * Knowledge of insurance products and coverage * OLAP and reporting tool technologies such as SSRS
