Quality and Engineering Manager Job

The Company designs, manufactures and sells flooring products (resilient and wood) and ceiling systems (mineral fiber, fiberglass and metal) globally. Armstrong Floor Products (AFP), a division of Armstrong World Industries, Inc., has a job opportunity for a Quality and Engineering Manager to be located in Lancaster, PA. The Quality and Engineering Manager will help drive the plant’s goal to deliver superior customer value through best in class products and services. Additionally, the Quality and Engineering Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing quality systems to improve operational practices, create customer satisfaction, and reduce costs while leading the engineering team at the plant to drive safety, operational, and infrastructure improvements. You will have the opportunity to lead and participate on process improvement initiatives using Lean tools and methodologies.

* Using general knowledge of a broad range of quality assurance tools to draw from and apply the most appropriate tool set for the purpose of driving quality systems and improvements * Providing technical leadership for the engineering team that drives safety, operational, and infrastructure improvements * Supporting and helping lead the plant’s strategic plans * Providing leadership for plant quality and engineering efforts in support of plant goals and divisional initiatives * Owning the Plant ISO system and leading the project for ISO certification on the new LVT line * Assuring technical and professional development of the engineering team * Initiating and implementing significant productivity improvements that are developed in the annual and monthly business cadence * Managing the overall plant capital spend and budgeting process and providing guidance to the plant project management systems

**Required Qualifications of the Quality and Engineering Manager:** * Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related field * 5+ years Quality Assurance and Process Improvement experience in a manufacturing environment * Strong communication skills, both written and verbal as well as the ability to present to multiple levels of the organization * Self-starter with a strong analytical mindset * Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office **Desired Qualifications of the Quality and Engineering Manager:** * Previous experience leading an engineering team * Lean Practitioner Training
