Summary
Armstrong World Industries Inc., has a job opportunity available for a Boardmill Production Supervisor to be located at our plant in Macon, GA. Reporting to the Value Stream Manager, the Boardmill Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing the daily production of one of our manufacturing lines. This position will be working on a schedule that rotates over three shifts and would require overtime and weekend work.
Responsibilities
* Leading, managing, and training a crew of approximately 15 production workers * Ensuring production goals are met or exceeded, including yield, throughput, and quality * Promoting and ensuring a safe work environment and environmental compliance * Preparing daily production schedules and ensuring schedule adherence * Applying lean manufacturing best practices and driving continuous improvement with people and processes * Effectively managing operations while meeting budgetary goals * Partnering effectively with maintenance and engineering to optimize equipment performance and reliability and assisting with Lean projects * Administrative duties to include, but not limited to, employee schedule maintenance, time keeping, accountability and discipline for performance, and participating in the hiring process if necessary
Ideal Candidate
**Required Qualifications of the Boardmill Production Supervisor:** * Bachelor's Degree in a related field or technical degree * Strong management and leadership skills * Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and motivate a diverse group of employees * Excellent working knowledge of safety and environmental practices and regulations, including OSHA compliance * Ability to effectively communication, both written and verbally, with various levels of the organization **Desired Qualifications of the Boardmill Production Supervisor:** * Industrial manufacturing experience * 3+ years of effective production management experience
