Summary
Armstrong World Industries, Inc., has a job opportunity for an Electrical Systems and Combustion Manager to be located in Marietta, PA. Reporting to the maintenance Manager, the Electrical Systems and Combustion Manager will be accountable for managing the power distribution systems throughout the facility, developing and maintaining the electrical systems for process equipment associated with maintenance work and leading the training and development of multi-craft electrical maintenance employees.
Responsibilities
- Leading an effective and efficient maintenance function to achieve operational performance objectives - Acting as a front line resource for technicians to assist with trouble shooting as needed - Developing and leading the training of electrical technicians as applicable to ensure continuous improvement of craftsmen skills - Developing and leading the training of combustion system related skills as applicable to ensure continuous improvement of craftsmen skills - Increasing Plant Reliability by the effective application of maintenance systems and processes - Leading the application of maintenance and engineering "best practices" and fundamentals throughout the facility - Developing and leading the application of Precision, Predictive, and Preventive Maintenance concepts in maintenance systems - Leading maintenance process improvement activities to drive results - Increasing effectiveness and productivity of maintenance craftsman - Understanding performance requirements of the plant and its impact on financial performance - Understanding the maintenance budgeting process - provide performance data to budgeting process - Leading, developing and executing a living 5 year plan around the plant's electrical infrastructure and future electrical needs by participating in Value Stream Mapping sessions, interacting with the Capital Manager and the engineering team, and working with the corporate Energy Management team - Applying Root Cause Failure Analysis to ensure proper solutions to maintenance issues are implemented - Applying Lean tools and strategies to drive uptime and the health of the process through daily participation in Gemba walks, Maintenance Blitzes, and kaizen events - Working with engineering manager and the maintenance manager to improve/update electrical infrastructure, introduce new electrical technologies, upgrade PLC platforms, Variable Frequency Drive, and servo motors as assigned
Ideal Candidate
**Required Qualifications for the Electrical Systems and Combustion Manager:** - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field - 3+ years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment - Project Management experience - Industrial automation experience, including: - PLC (Allen-Bradley platform experience) - Variable Frequency Drives - Servo Systems - Instrumentation & Controls - Demonstrated ability in leading teams or improvement projects - Project Management, process improvement such as Six Sigma, Lean, SMED **Desired Qualifications for the Electrical Systems and Combustion Manager:** - 5+ years of experience in a process manufacturing environment in an electrical engineering or technical craftsman position - Familiarity with PLC's, Robotics, Instrumentation and Plant Power Distribution. Understanding of the National Electrical Code with emphasis on NFPA 70e. - Experience with HMI (WonderWare & PanelView experience) - Technical degree or previous production management experience - Demonstrated ability in the application of preventive and predictive maintenance technology
