Summary
APR has been engaged to identify hard working Manufacturing Development Engineer for one of our biggest clients in manufacturing industry.
Responsibilities
* Use technical process expertise in machined casting tooling design and processing and strong knowledge of Vehicle Industry AIAG standards to drive the successful launch of machined components. * Management of APQP elements/deliverables with the supplier to ensure quality requirements are adhered and start of production readiness is delivered to project timing. * Resolve manufacturing problems using analytical tools and 8D methodology. Drives process and systemic quality improvements with supplier(s) through the use of quality tools (SPC, Lean, Six Sigma) and validates improvements through defined measurables to mitigate quality non-conformances (8D) during launch. * Utilizes company's administrative tools (WISPER, SharePoint, APQP Tracking Tool, etc.) to track and document launch progress. Provides regular communications regarding status and milestone updates to the project team and defines any necessary recovery plans. * Works to actively deploy company's defined Supplier Development Procedures, Processes and work instructions within the region. Leads process and procedures review with cross functional team members as needed.
Ideal Candidate
* Technical degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited 4 year institution. * Minimum 3 years in a Manufacturing organization, 5 years or more PREFERRED, with demonstrated machining manufacturing experience. * 5 years' experience in using quality tools/methodologies(PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC, auditing) 8 years or more PREFERRED * Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification * Knowledge of Industry specific quality registration (ISO/TS16949) * ASQ Certified Quality Engineer * Ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the company * Ability to think strategically * Able to lead continuous improvement projects within the supply base.
