Appian is looking for Enterprise Architects to scale Appian’s technical solutions and enable Appian’s delivery teams. As an Appian Architect, you will be a key leader for the business of consulting as well as the business of our clients. Appian’s growth trajectory ensures that Appian Architects will immediately impact customer interaction and team development, working closely with our clients and Appian’s delivery and product engineering teams. Not only do Appian Architects become experts at scaling process applications on our software, they also become business process experts in the various client industries they work.

* Work directly with project stakeholders throughout the entire life-cycle of projects to define, design, implement, and review business process based solutions * Work with the teams to identify and remedy technical risk early in the application development lifecycle. * Work with the client to identify the best areas to invest their development resources as a part of their roadmap. * Work with clients/customers on all aspects of their program to drive technical success and efficiency in areas including version control and configuration management and other DevOps practices * Drive adoption by empowering clients to become self-sufficient with building process applications on their own * Work with clients to build out their Appian program and their own center of excellence * Drive technical knowledge within your project portfolio and ensure Appian staff’s continuous learning and improvement * Design and review complex solutions with Appian software and remove technical impediments * Independently interface with client enterprise technical teams as needed during the design and implementation of scalable architectural solutions * Collect and review technical challenges with a team of architects and distill into common best practices and common solutions * Develop and conduct best practices workshops within your project portfolio or across regional teams * Contribute directly to the product feedback loop based on design patterns, field feedback, implementation challenges, and product features needed by Appian customers

* You are an expert practitioner in system design with hands on technical experience * You’re passionate about web and networking/OS, and multi-tier server technologies * You have demonstrated past breakout success with Enterprise Systems design and implementation * You have scaled Enterprise Systems to address high volume and transaction requirements * You have a deep understanding of and experience with modern integration technologies * You are excited by tough challenges and are a natural problem solver * You have software consulting experience, ideally in a Portal, BPM, DM or EAI related setting * You have vendor technology knowledge * You have a highly desired technical or vertical specialization * You’re well educated, with at least a BS in Computer Science or related field/degree in addition to 5-8 years of experience
