Vice President of Finance

AppFolio Property Manager is a powerful cloud-based property management software that allows apartment, residential, commercial, student housing, and community association property managers to more effectively market, manage and grow their business.

As Vice President, Finance, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be a trusted business advisor to the executive team and provide financial leadership, execution and experience required to support the Company’s operations and growth. You will partner with all other VPs and business leaders to lead financial analysis, financial strategy and forecasting, budgeting, risk management and ongoing development of financial systems and processes associated with the successful financial operations of the company.

* Lead the design and implementation of financial best practices and systems * Lead Financial Planning and Analysis support for business leaders; * Build trusted relationships with key business partners and partner with senior leadership to define operational metrics and drive data-driven, financially sound business decisions * Manage forecasting processes (monthly and quarterly forecasts, scenario modeling); * Lead management reporting – analyze financial results, distill and synthesize key trends, assessing current and future business risk, communicate key messages to senior management and business partners; * Assist in analysis and presentation of strategic materials for management and Board of Directors meetings; * Direct the development and implementation of repeatable business, operational and financial processes and systems to support requirements of corporate, business units and functions; * Build detailed financial, scenario based models to evaluate investment priorities and evaluate potential alternatives; * Continually evolve the financial infrastructure to support the changing business needs and future M&A integrations * Work closely with the corporate controller and investor relations team in preparation for press releases, analyst calls, and other presentations to analysts. * Assist in other ad-hoc analysis and presentation requests

* BS or BA degree in finance or accounting. MBA and CPA highly desired * 15+ years of progressive business or finance experience in software/SaaS high growth company, including 5+ years financial management experience at a publicly-traded company * Ability to work in a fast paced, quickly changing environment * Ability to work cross functionally and influence appropriately * Strong analytical and problem solving skills * Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) * Able to think strategically and operate effectively with management * Ability to inspire and coach team members for career development
