Technical Director, Forecasting: AOL Platforms

AOL Lifestream is a web-based application that enables users to keep track of all their comments on social networking sites. Integrated with AIM Express, AIM 7, and AIM for Mac, users can publish their statuses, reply to comments on networking sites from their Lifestream tab, and more. AOL Lifestream is a product of AOL.

We are looking for a Technical Director of Forecasting for the AOL Platforms demand team. Our technical leaders make a direct impact on the success of every effort by building strong talent and leading execution. This role will be suited to someone who has a proven track record of successfully leading large multi-discipline teams, and who is still able to contribute at all levels. To be considered for this role you must have commercial development experience and a background in large scale analytics and data science. Our forecasting systems drive our ecosystem to have the highest accuracy based on our many data sets and models. The Director of Forecasting will be responsible for bringing our forecasting systems together to operate under the ONE umbrella across display, video and mobile.

* Work as part of the Advertising Technology team to design and deliver new & maintain existing forecasting platforms and systems as required * Set the technical vision and direction for forecasting across video, display and mobile * Work closely with Software Engineers and Architects to triage technical issues and provide clear resolutions in a collaborative way. * Demonstrate technical leadership as well as exceptional people management skills. * Translate strategic goals into tactical execution for the team. * Collaborate with Product and Design teams across the company to deliver results. * Successfully own and execute projects; ensuring that project deliverables are on time and meet or exceed quality standards. * Lead and line manage multiple engineering teams, each of 5-10 developers, delivering multiple products spanning various technologies * Inspire others with your passion for technology and user experience. * Initiate bold ideas with a clear impact on the business * Hire and develop top engineering talent. * Lead strategy and execution around test automation, continuous integration and deployment. * Inspire others with your passion for technology and user experience. * Initiate bold ideas with a clear impact on the business.

* BS (or higher) in Computer Science or related engineering field and at least 7+ years experience * Have deep, hands-on understanding and experience in server side technologies and working with Unix/Linux environments. * Have a proven track record of technical management (development and testing) and people management experience * Experience in building large scale Web applications across different platforms * Experience building platforms capable of handling big data * Experience with Web technologies and performance optimization techniques * Experience in delivering software in a fast paced environment, and a good grasp on agile methodologies * Experience building high-performance teams, including performance management
