Can you turn a breaking news story into a clear, concise video? Are you someone who thinks visually about complex issues (and can fit it into a :60 mobile-first video?) Do you live and breathe current events, know how to creatively source footage, and put it together in a way that speaks to audiences on the web?
HuffPost News, the video news team at The Huffington Post, is looking for a Los Angeles based producer/editor able to work on videos covering a broad range of topics. On a daily basis, we cover politics, world news, entertainment, and even misunderstood Pit Bulls. And that’s just to start.
The right candidate is a creative, proficient and detail-oriented editor with proven success or interest in producing entertaining, informative short pieces for the web.
- Expert in Adobe Premiere/FCP X, Photoshop, Illustrator.
- Field shooting, studio setup and After Effects/Motion Graphics experience is a plus.
- Two years of professional experience editing for news, editorial or documentary content highly preferred.
- Strong writing / copy editing experience -- and the ability to take a producers copy and visually bring it to the next level.
- Ability to work with a diverse team of creators on tight deadlines, and guide them to the finish line on time.
- Strong storytelling instincts -- ability to package a news story with a beginning, middle, end and a strong point of view.
