- To evaluate and improve manufacturing processes by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; and soliciting observations from supervisors and operators.
- Provide manufacturing with tools and technical engineering support to implement new products and processes into production.
- Provide ideas for designs and assemblies and follow them through from concept through production.
- Work with Quality Engineering on corrective actions to improve overall quality and reduce customer complaints.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Investigate new manufacturing processes and equipment and prepare capital requests with justification
- Improve American Seating’s current processes by removing constraints through a team approach.
- Identify and implement cost reduction projects
- Support new product launch’s by helping to determine new product costs
Minimum Requirements
- 4 year engineering degree
- 2-5 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering
Skills Required
- Candidates should be mechanically inclined with the ability to troubleshoot, often hands-on interacting with shop floor personnel.
- Preferred experience: CAD, Solidworks, Lean Manufacturing, Powdercoat, Upholstery, Metal Fab, Welding, and Assembly.
