Summary
Under the direction of the Assistant Chief Engineer, the Maintenance Electrical Supervisor will supervise and coordinate with one to two employees to perform quality Electrical work in the maintenance, construction, and repair of the Home Office Building and its surrounding property.
Responsibilities
* Performing preventive maintenance as scheduled. * Maintaining the spare part inventory sufficient to repair any malfunction that may occur. * The up keep and maintenance of the emergency generator and will run the generator under load monthly and evaluate its performance. * Responsible for the controls associated with the following equipment: Fire pumps, fire reservoir pit, sump pumps, and domestic water pumps. The Electrical Supervisor will routinely check for correct operation and repairs as needed and be solely responsible for the correct operation of this equipment in case of emergency. * Responsible for all lighting, all electrical service and equipment, and communications systems. It shall be his responsibility to keep these items in good state of repair and spare parts inventory sufficient to minimize down time. * Accountable for installation of computer cable and power supply for new installations of equipment whether it is with in house personnel or outside contractors. * Keeping the electrical prints up-to-date, showing any new editions or removals of any major circuits. Any contracted electrical work in this establishment will be directed through the Electrical Supervisor. * Assist in calibrating and troubleshooting power issues with the HVAC system. * The up keep of all electrical on kitchen equipment and have on hand spare parts inventory sufficient to minimize down time * Will assist in all emergency procedures when called on. * The maintenance and repairs of these items: TV cameras and motors, motion detectors, photo electrical switches, smoke detectors and fire alarms. Also work on outside American National Insurance Company properties. * Expected to participate in solving emergency calls after hours, weekends and holidays. Also assist in securing building in the event a hurricane enters the gulf.
Ideal Candidate
* Journeyman’s License * License by the state of Texas and 5+ years’ experience * Valid Texas Driver License and Clean driving record * Extensive knowledge in electrical and ADA code standards and regulations * Must have ability to supervise electrician helpers to ensure tasks are completed in an efficient manner * Must have ability to climb ladders and carry at least 40 lbs. * Must have ability to work from plans, verbal communication, sketches, and blue prints * Operate drill motors, saws, volt meters, amp meters, and circuit tracers
