Summary
The Manager of Statistics will solve business problems while guiding a team of statisticians to do the same. This position will solve problems to leverage the latest statistical techniques and continue to advance their career with a growing level of responsibility.
Responsibilities
* Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * Navigates databases to find relative data and put it together to form a modeling dataset * Understands how to apply statistical modeling techniques to solve business problems * Works with others to make the company better * Communicates ideas and thoughts clearly to peers * Alerts appropriate person(s) of issues (errors, impediments, previously unknown relevant information) that arise * Develops new skill sets * Accomplishes tasks efficiently and independently * Viewed as a subject matter expert * Collaborates with others to understand the business problem * Communicates results and recommendations to management * Contributes to the company’s understanding by drawing insights out of data * Identifies opportunities to apply statistics to improve business performance * Mentors junior associates * Explains the business problem to peers and subordinates * Influences others in both verbal and written mediums * Presents constraints around timelines, scope, resources with recommended paths * Communicates clearly and concisely to management and others outside of the analytic community * Plans long projects in advance by laying out deliverables, timelines and resources * Manages timelines by proactively navigating issues as they arise Supervisory Responsibility This position has supervisory responsibilities.
Ideal Candidate
* Master’s degree in Statistics or similar quantitative field of study * 2 or more years of experience in statistical modeling * 1 or more years of experience managing associates * Motivated to work hard and a desire to learn * Possesses working knowledge of SAS, R or similar statistical programming package * Demonstrated ability to build high quality predictive models * Strong experience building, implementing and monitoring predicative models * Works well with teams to accomplish company objectives * Strong R programming skills * 2 or more years of experience in Risk management Work Environment and Physical Demands This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Compensation and Working Conditions

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m., 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Hours may vary or exceed 40 in any given week depending on the needs of the business. No travel is expected for this position
