Summary
We are currently seeking a highly qualified Senior Lead Specialist, Instructional Design to join our Learning & Development and AGDC Compliance department in Richmond, VA.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will define and shape the Learning & Development and AGDC Compliance team's instruction methods and modalities by working with program managers and other practitioners to translate business needs into learning solutions. * Designing, creating, and refreshing content for field sales force and/or AGDC headquarter employees (sales support, compliance, etc.) learning & development courses. Identifying the appropriate delivery modality based on best practice adult learning techniques. Collaborating with program managers and other practitioners to tailor content and delivery to business needs. Courses include training on selling & communication, planning & execution, analytics, and leadership. * Establishing foundational strategies for field sales force and/or headquarter employee learning & development and the entire L&D team. Using expertise in adult learning principles, neuroscience, and learning & development strategies to own key program design, content creation, and content delivery decisions. * Identifying and coordinating with third party content creators to provide training content for employees. * Training program managers on program facilitation, teaching, and learning assessment best practices. * Participating in the broader learning & development research community, researching innovative techniques and cutting edge technologies. Applying learnings to refresh and enhance programs. * Driving the University's intellectual development and knowledge growth.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in the learning field (neuroscience or education) preferred. * 5+ years of related instructional design experience * Prior instructional design experience with a sales force and/or retail sales preferred * Expertise in adult learning principles, assessment and evaluation techniques, and content design * Demonstrated organizational results with medium to large size organizations * Knowledge of and access to third party content vendors and hosts * Experience in a sales organization a plus * Ability to train, develop, and manager performance of individuals is needed * Demonstrated participation in or access to L&D research community * Strong teamwork skills * Ability to operate a computer and computer software * Some travel to various programs and research conferences
