Responsibilities
The UI/UX Designer will play a strategic role with our eCommerce and Marketing teams to create clear and easy to use features and interfaces to connect our brand and brand values with our customers and improve the overall shopping experience. This position will be responsible for the design, development and execution of digital technologies while ensuring that projects and initiatives are completed flawlessly and on time. Time will be split between hands-on design and development, collaborating with different departments, and working with our web development partners on implementation. We are seeking a creative, talented and knowledgeable UI/UX Designer with brand-building experience that is capable of producing stunning, user-centric web/mobile interfaces. - Develop creative assets and design deliverables for digital marketing efforts with a focus on design and creative solutions that get business results and exceed customer expectations. - Execute quality customer user interface and user experience interactions for all web applications and web site assets. - Work closely with cross-functional teams to help define business and feature requirements, user scenarios and use cases. - Responsible for consistency across all digital mediums. - Create high-quality visual designs that are responsive and mobile friendly. - Provide current insights into best practices in graphic design, mobile/web/app creation, etc. - Test web sites and applications in various environments and cross-browsers to ensure optimal user experience. - Work with our web developers to implement site improvements including search engine optimization and usability. - Create conceptual diagrams, wireframes and mock-ups with the ability to effectively communicate design ideas, strategies and solutions that improve the Alternative experience. - Create additional digital content as needed.
Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Graphic Design/Interface Design, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. 3+ years' experience as UX, UI or Product Designer. - In-depth knowledge and proven abilities of HTML, CSS, Responsive Design, JavaScript and Adobe Creative Cloud. - Proven ability to design multiple assets while adhering to brand guidelines. - Must have an excellent eye for aesthetics: layout, grid systems, color theory and typography. - Fluent at communicating conceptual ideas and design rationale. - Previous work in retail and e-commerce fields a plus.
