Summary
We are one of the leading Global manufacturers for Coils Springs and Stabilizer Bars in the Automotive industry. We are supporting all of our North American customers from our Sales and Engineering Center in Troy, Michigan. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Resident Engineer to support our client. The Resident Engineer will be responsible for the Engineering and CAD Design of Stabilizer Bars and Coil Springs with a focus on Client projects in North America. This position reports to the Engineering Manager in Troy, Michigan.
Responsibilities
* First line of contact to client Engineering for the whole team. * Provides calculations and analysis according to the Customer’s expectations and our * Company standard to ensure technical design compliance. * Provides Technical summaries to Sales & Manufacturing for Cost & Feasibility analysis. * Supports Project meetings & Technical Reviews. * Create/Modify CAD models directly in client systems. * Create/Modify CAD drawings and coordinate Review/Release with the Troy team. * Coordinates Prototype development including procurement and tracking. * Coordinates Tier sub-suppliers technical design & development progress. * Develop Test plans (DVP&R and PV) & gathers results to obtain approval.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field. * Proficiency with CATIA CAD * Technical knowledge & experience in Steel Suspension. * Professional experience at Automotive Supplier or OEM. * Strong communication skills in verbal and written. We are working in an international business environment with frequent Global interaction. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Power Point. * Strong Customer focus and appropriate sense of urgency. * Requires travel to client site for minimum 3 days a week during heavy design times, and at other times will be between zero to 1 day a week (i.e. as needed). * Willingness to travel occasionally (domestic and international) for other meetings/events.
