Quality Assurance Developer

Altair is focused on the development and broad application of simulation technology to synthesize and optimize designs, processes and decisions for improved business performance.

Develop and maintain QA subsystem and hardware for HW Solvers teams

* Develop and maintain utility software for build and qa processes for HyperWorks Solvers * Maintain servers and virtual machines used in solver builds and qa in Austin office * Update system software, including compilers and build utilities * Participate in tuning and optimization of specific routines/algorithms * Supervise and tune automated builds and QA processes for HW solvers, including MFG and MSD development groups.

* Computer Science degree, or engineering with significant CS component * Knowledge of system administration for Linux, Windows and Vmware servers * Knowledge of scripting languages, e.g. perl, Tcl/Tk, Python * Development and maintenance of web appliances (Java, Tomcat) * Desired: experience with tools and processes useful in development of the software * Desired: some experience with mysql or similar software * Desired: debugging skills, using Eclipse, MSDev and/or gdb * Desired: understanding of basic principles of finite element methods * Able to work independently in a small team, with minimal supervision. * Capable of building good relationships with the rest of the team, even when working under pressure.
