Digital Media Specialist

The Allstate Corporation is the largest publicly held personal lines property and casualty insurer in America. Allstate was founded in 1931 and became a publicly traded company in 1993. Allstate offers car insurance, home, property, condo and renters insurance, plus insurance for recreational vehicles like motorcycles, boats and more.

The Multimedia Consultant II (Digital Media Specialist) supports the ongoing digital marketing efforts, content development and content management. The role is creative in nature and will assist in digital initiatives and projects, primarily focused on the product lifecycle for the Allstate Benefits branded digital applications, consistent with business strategies. The Consultant is responsible for the creation of online and digital assets including, but not limited to: websites, HTML email, video and other digital projects.

* Multimedia Consultant II is responsible for working directly with the manager to formulate the digital consumer engagement strategy and developing of solutions for web properties * Working with Multimedia Manager to develop and execute a content strategy across digital platforms such as website and blogs * Work effectively in time-sensitive situations and meet deadlines; coordinate multiple projects and complex tasks simultaneously * Pay attention to detail, and troubleshoot user-friendliness and technical issues * Provide training and technical support to departmental staff and ensure appropriate training of staff and end users * Exercise independent judgment and initiative with minimal supervision * Creates and maintains a catalog of client and company websites * Tests websites and provides feedback to appropriate development resources with limited supervision * Measures, analyzes and reports on content activities and engagement through digital analytics

**Job Qualifications** * 2-3 years of thorough knowledge of web design and development, browser compatibility issues for all platforms/major browsers and responsive is also a must. * 2+ years’ experience with streaming media, online video, and online multimedia applications in general * Must be able to work in a cross functional team (matrix) and have some ability to influence peers * Proven ability to respond and anticipate business changes. Comfortable in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment with little direction. * Understand video hosting and compression methods * Understand online hosting, FTP, Linux and other server and data base functions * Ability to multi-task and manage a wide variety of projects simultaneously * Strong communication skills, an ability to break down work into smaller pieces (to manage work assignments) * Understanding of email marketing and other means of online communications * Has a passion and intellectual curiosity for digital emerging / converging technologies, stays current of the latest industry news, trends, and vendors and is savvy on digital content best practices. * Skilled and experienced with Microsoft products: excel, word, PowerPoint * Must understand the nuances of segmentation and personalization in such a way as to influence a consumer’s behavior through content design / creation / placement in the interactive space * Must be comfortable leveraging data / analytics to influence their priorities / efforts / impact * Has a working knowledge of analytics, especially Google analytics * Bachelor’s Degree preferred * Adobe Creative suite knowledge required **Prefer but not required:** * Insurance of Financial industry knowledge * C++, HTML5 and Java * SharePoint 2013 * SQL Server and Database Management * Knowledge of 508 Compliance and the ability to understand design elements with graphics and 3D animations taking compliance guidelines into perspective. * Knowledge of XML, Java Script, MPG encoding
