Summary
Provide clinical care for patients including assessment, diagnosis/treatment of illness, ordering and interpreting medical diagnostics, chronic illness management, wellness care, prescribing of medications, treatments, therapy, medical equipment, etc
Responsibilities
* Follows the established safety and health measures * Development of a treatment plan * Implementation of a treatment plan * Follow-up and evaluation of patient status * Facilitation of patient participation in self-care * Promotion of optimal health * Facilitation of entry into health care system
Ideal Candidate
**Education** * Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Master's degree in nursing from a program that prepares clinical nurse specialists (APRN CNS or APRN NP). Mental Health certification. **Qualification/Skills** * 3-5 years patient care experience in MH acute care setting; experience in basic clinical specialization required. * Experience in advanced clinical specialization/leadership, consultation, education, research, and interdisciplinary collaboration preferred. * Advanced physical and psychosocial health assessment skills. Sound knowledge of psychiatric care and mental health. * Ability to assess patient data, initiate, evaluate and modify plan of care. * Strong communication and problem solving skills. Ability to work effectively with patients to meet their care needs. * Able to develop collaborative relationships with professional colleagues **Licensure/Experience** * Formal education as a nurse practitioner in an area consistent with the patient population served * Current Registered Nurse License for the State of Minnesota * Certification as a nurse practitioner by appropriate professional organization * Minnesota prescriptive authority and DEA licensure * ACLS certification preferred
