Laboratory Assistant I

Allina Health is dedicated to the prevention and treatment of illness and enhancing the greater health of individuals, families and communities throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

• Collect Specimens
• Process Specimens
• Perform limited laboratory procedures (waived)
• Maintain supply levels
• Assist with training of new employees
• Additional duties / responsibilities as assigned
• Required CE = 6 credits (hours) / year
• Perform and document QC: takes appropriate remedial action following established laboratory guidelines
• Perform proficiency testing as assigned and maintain documentation to comply with regulatory requirements
• Participate in laboatory and facility TQI teams as assigned
• Assist in monitoring of QA indicators
• Respond to and resolve customer concerns and questions within guidelines
• Meet requirement for annual infection control and safety / security education

• High School Diploma or GED
• Phlebotomy experience or phlebotomy certification
• Experience in one or more of the following preferred: Computers, filling, typing, specimen processing, billing, medical assistant, reception, waived testing
