Sales Tax Specialist

Allied Electronics is a high service level authorized distributor of industrial automation products, electronic components, and electromechanical products with 43 sales offices serving the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Customer sales tax taxation compliance. Self - Audit and preparation. Ad-hoc projects as needed. Reports to accounting manager.

Reports to accounting manager. **Primary Duties and Responsibilities:** * Review and approve customer sales tax exemption certificates on daily bases. * Collect sales tax exemption certificates for audit preparation. * Perform self-audits for tax exempt customer accounts. * Assist in processing customer tax credit. * Assist Sales and Credit departments with the understanding of exemption certificates requirements. * Answer sales tax exemption questions. * Assist with journal entries for sales / use taxes. * Other audits, ad-hoc projects, as needed.

* Must be able to read tax exemption documents, able to review and analyze statues and regulations. * Hands on, detail oriented and organized. Ability to deliver on tight timelines. * Relevant experience in sales /use tax required. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Must be willing to work overtime as needed. * Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. * Self-learner and self-motivated and able to work in a fast paced environment. **Education and /or experience** * 2-3 years of sales tax compliance experience is required * College degree preferred
