Summary

Under general supervision, the scope of this position includes the development and execution of strategic marketing programs supporting assigned Alere product portfolio(s) across market segments that may include: health system, hospital, physician office, patient self-testing (PST), urgent care, retail health, public health, and/or health promotion.

Responsibilities
  • Lead product portfolio marketing team and develop talent to support that team.

  • Develop strategic long-range and annual marketing plans establishing strategies and tactics to promote assigned product portfolio(s) in each target market segment.

  • Analyze market segment opportunities and develop strategies to penetrate those markets including the creation of compelling value propositions, competitive positioning, most desirable product attributes and trade-offs, pricing, and sales forecasts.

  • Develop promotional campaigns for the assigned product portfolio(s) including communications vehicles, collateral and sales support materials, and distributor- or national account-specific programs, as applicable.

  • Analyze effectiveness of promotional programs; monitor trends, market share, etc.

  • Serve as the product portfolio champion and a resource for the Sales organization, working closely with the Sales management.

  • Serve as the product portfolio champion for senior management.

  • Work closely with Global Business Unit, Shared Services Center, Technical Service, Global Marketing Services, other departments, and other companies, when appropriate, on key product portfolio initiatives and market development activities.

  • Responsible for reviewing health care and competitive landscapes to ensure that Corporate and Sales organizations are kept up to date on new developments regarding changing marketplace dynamics.

  • Exhibit professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practices.

  • Track and complete projects on time and within budget.

  • Knowledgeable of federal and other regulations, e.g. QSRs, ISO, ISO 13485, CMDR

  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

This role is more specific to HIV/Infectious Disease

Ideal Candidate
  • BA/BS in Marketing, Business, Biological Science or related field. MBA with marketing emphasis.

  • Knowledge of all aspects of medical marketing and sales, in addition to a strong strategic market and data analysis skills.

  • 7-10 experience in related functions.

  • 3-5 years sales experience in diagnostic industry.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with success in promoting products.

  • Creative and innovative tasks skills with a high level of energy, enthusiasm, endurance, and a can do attitude.
