Product Engineer

Responsible for all dimensional aspects of the casting process including the cores, tooling, wax dimensions and final casting dimensions.

• Interpret customer design requirements through part electronic files and/or prints
• Work with customers through concurrent engineering activity to design in tolerances that are achievable in production
• Specify dimensional criteria for all tooling used in the production of Industrial Gas Turbine Castings
• Use CMM and UT to target dimensions in wax and that will achieve a dimensionally acceptable casting
• Use NDT techniques to monitor and improve that targeting to achieve the best part with the lowest scrap and rework
• Work to improve scrap and rework and overall total product cost for existing product and/or new product
• Use NDT and DT and complete capability studies as a means to gain process approval from customers. Work closely with customers to gain process approvals.

• 4 year Mechanical Engineering or related degree is a minimum
• Experience in a manufacturing or technical role is a plus
• Must be a problem solver
• Must be team oriented with a strong focus on manufacturing support.
• Must be able to manage technical projects and drive improvements to part quality
• Knowledge and use of six sigma tools is a plus
• Excellent Communications skills
• Strong computer skills including working knowledge of statistical software and MS Project is required
• Excellent ability to work as a team in a fast paced manufacturing environment
• Ability to work overtime or on off shifts/weekends as required to support work flow shipments.
