Senior Software Analyst (Middleware)

Alameda County is one of the largest counties in Northern California, with 9,000 employees and serving a population of over 1.4 million people in the East Bay.

Senior Software Analyst position is part of the Middleware team that is comprised of 11 technical professionals supporting administration of PeopleSoft, GIS, Autonomy, FileNet, CA D-series and Change control software. The Senior Software Analyst plays a key leadership role on the Middleware team providing senior-level analysis and technical leadership on projects, supporting Application Services Group, and Infrastructure/Operations Group as well as other agencies throughout the county.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for coordinating and communicating with developers throughout the delivery of projects. - - May be required to do software installations and maintenance, code programs and develop/deploy WEB applications.
• Establish team standards and mentor other staff using best business practices.
• Work closely with Operations Team to maintain 24/7 high-availability for middleware applications
• Provide technical support to Application Services Group and database team
• Must have a good understanding of IT infrastructure to be able to triage infrastructure issues and make recommendations for changes to infrastructure and middleware software.

• 5+ years of system administration, system analysis and application development with large-scale applications/systems.
• 2+ years of system analysis, programming and design.
• Experience working on Windows platforms designing and administering high-availability systems.
• Knowledgeable in system security
• Skilled on writing SQL statements.
• Knowledgeable in coding applications (prefer .NET and JAVA), testing, and debugging.
