Summary
This is an opportunity to work in a large scale, global network operations department. Working as part of a team that develops and refines conditional alerts that are used to monitor and maintain Akamai’s systems in the most effective way possible.
Responsibilities
* Diagnosing troubles identified by network monitoring and working to resolve issues. * Monitoring, troubleshooting & correcting server and network problems and live network broadcasting issues. * Working with various third parties (Engineers, System Architects, Infrastructure Vendors, Customers, and Developers) to narrow down problems and achieve resolution. * Clearly and effectively documenting information in the Trouble Ticket system for communication to other staff, to open tickets and follow up on escalated problems.
Ideal Candidate
**Basic Qualifications** * Bachelors in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or 3 equivalent experience * Minimum 3 years of experience designing and administering a monitoring and reporting solution in a high availability environment. * Minimum 3 year of experience with UNIX system administration **Desired Qualifications** * Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational skills, and a demonstrated history of high-level achievement in cross-functional organizations. * Working knowledge of TCP/IP in internetworking/WAN data communications. * Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational skills, and a demonstrated history of high-level achievement in cross-functional organizations.
