Summary

Provide legal assistance & support during all phases of litigation to the Staff Counsel attorneys.

Responsibilities
  • Drafting of various legal documents including pleadings, settlement documents, general correspondence, briefs, motions and memoranda
  • Assist in discovery phase of litigation including, but not limited to, conferring with clients to obtain information; drafting discovery responses; propounding discovery to other parties; and summarizing discovery responses received from other parties procuring, reviewing and summarizing medical, employment and other pertinent records
  • Assist in the medical and investigative phase of litigation including, but not limited to, procuring, reviewing and summarizing medical, employment and other pertinent records in an accurate manner and all completed within the required due date set forth in the task assignment.
  • Assist in the trial phase of litigation including, but not limited to, trial preparation activities such as file organization, witness notification, subpoena preparation and creating trial notebooks
  • Scheduling of depositions, IMEs, mediations and hearings
  • Provide professional assistance to clients, claims and opposing counsel.
Ideal Candidate
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as paralegal; Minimum of 2 in relevant LOBs; specialized LOB / industry legal process knowledge and understanding of local jurisdiction and federal court rules and procedures
  • Excellent communication, organization and grammar skills
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • State Licensure as required; Paralegal Certificate / Degree or comparable work experience
  • HS Diploma or equivalent required
