Summary
The qualified candidate will become a member of AIG’s Personal Accident Pricing & Portfolio Management team. The Pricing & Portfolio Management team works closely with product tower management, finance, underwriting and claims in a wide range of functions, including pricing, portfolio management, business analytics, financial forecasting and budgeting. The data analyst will provide data and business analytics support. This includes expert business knowledge on the extraction, interpretation, and preparation of both quantitative and qualitative data as well as the creation and maintenance of actuarial databases, process automation and developing end-user tools to support data-driven decision making.
Responsibilities
* Preparing and scrubbing data for model building * Creation of actuarial databases for analysis * Sourcing new data from inside and outside of AIG * Create, maintain and distribute data and reports to actuarial and business analytics users. Explain and interpret content * Develop and track pricing, actuarial and operational analytics (e.g. indication studies, actual rate changes, KPIs etc.) * Support reporting, analysis and projects as required including reviews of business segment analytics, portfolio investigative analysis, database content analysis, automation of reporting, dashboards and other ad hoc report creation
Ideal Candidate
* Fluency in English. * BS/BA Degree (MS preferred) preferably in Computer Science, Statistics, Math or equivalent combination of education and experience. * 5-7 years of experience with data analysis and preparation, including experience with very large data sets. * High level SQL skills and SAS skills. Experience with C#, Java, R, Hadoop, Hive, Python is a plus. * Experience in database development. Proficiency with building and maintaining Access databases. Star schema structures knowledge a plus. * Experience with data visualization techniques and tools such as Tableau and Qlikview * Data model design expertise. * Strong business and collaboration skills, and responsive to service needs and operational demands. * Strong analytical and problem solving skills and knowledge of drivers of insurance risk and pricing analysis * Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills * The successful individual will be well versed in all cycles of programming development, analysis, testing, and implementation. * Broad based global insurance industry experience preferred. Experience in the Insurance Industry, specifically with Personal Accident products is a significant plus
