Responsibilities
Responsibilities Primary responsibility areas include: Accounting: process accounts payable and receivable in a timely manner, applying appropriate account codes using the organization’s financial system; maintain accounts payables files; making general ledger entries and balancing accounts; assist with the compliance of SAS-112 procedures and regulations as related to internal controls. Budgeting: Update and monitor individual program budgets using database/spreadsheet interface; Assist with the annual operating, capital and grants budgeting process including generating cost data and spreadsheet entry process. Payroll: Provide support for processing payroll. General Support: assist Director of Finance with monthly and year-end closings; assist in the preparation of financial reports as requested; manage the organizations state charitable registration filings including monitoring deadlines and ensuring compliance and timely annual submission of all required registrations; and assist with preparation for annual audit.
Ideal Candidate
Qualifications Qualified candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with a minimum of 3 years of experience in nonprofit bookkeeping or similar experience, including expertise in MS Excel, and demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles related to nonprofit organizations required. Position requires a thorough understanding of accounting and a highly organized, forward thinking individual who is self-motivated and able to take initiative with sound judgment. Individual must have the ability to perform responsibilities in a professional manner and to handle assignments with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality. Proven organizational skills including excellent time-management and ability to prioritize tasks required. Position requires strong writing and communications abilities. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and work independently as well as a member of a team. Must possess demonstrated proficiency in the MS Office suite. Experience with Intacct cloud-based financial management software is a plus.

Competitive salary commensurate with experience and based on salary history (expected range of $40,000 - $55,000). Exceptional benefits offered in a flexible work environment.
