Business Intelligence Solutions Data Architect/ Technical Specialist

Publishing Services, a subsidiary of Agora Inc., is seeking a talented professional Business Intelligence Solutions Data Architect Technical Specialist. The ideal candidate would have experience working as part of a team in a dynamic and challenging environment to architect, develop, and support the build out of a new enterprise reporting data warehouse. The candidate would also be accountable for interpreting business requirements into abstractlogical data models as well as developingimplementing architecture standards, principles, and services that meets the needs of the business. The candidate must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate a method of thinking acquired from years of problem-solving experience in the field. He/she must display excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and a strong aptitude of relational database design and development. To be successful in this role the architect must be very proactive, being able to balance multiple projects concurrently and be able to execute the department’s vision prescribed with initiative and thoughtfulness. Duties and Responsibilities - Apply solutions architecture concepts and standards to reporting and application projects. Review current frameworks and designs for architectural issues or concerns such as integrity, scalability, security and to provide recommendations to address reporting and application performance and availability by providing database or new technologies. - Provide options and solutions during conceptual solution discussions from a Business Intelligence Solutions Architect as well as an Application Data Architect. - Continually evaluate new technologies and keep up to date with current technology enhancements to meet current and future business intelligence, reporting and application development needs. - Develop architecture specification documentation representing current and planned design of data environments and solutions. Be able to effectively interpret documented business requirements into logical and physical data models. - Lead technical and business discussions to align BI solution architecture during a projects lifecycle. - Maintain a flexible work schedule to meet various demands of client support and on-call requirements (limited). - Implement and enforce best software design and development practices as well as to serve as a steward for developing quality driven software. - Mentor and educate a data and application development teams on architecture concepts. - Support ETL development and database deployment activities where needed.

Qualifications - 7+ years’ experience as a data solutions architect or ETL developer. - At least 3+ years’ experience in providing data warehousing architectural solutions. Solid skills in building and delivering logical and physical data models. Successful experience with modeling data warehouses is a must. - Strong experience in database agile and waterfall development along with managing multiple environments and concurrent releases. - Extensive understanding of relational database architectures, techniques, and methodologies to support application and reporting needs with schema, dimensional, and aggregation techniques. - Must have a strong background in supporting BI reporting tools from a database perspective. - Strong understanding of advanced SQL techniques including performance, availability, scalability, security, and maintainability concepts. - Must understand design principles and best practices, while also having a general idea on how to handle architecture decisions for quality focused applications. - Highly experienced in data modeling tools such as Erwin. - 4+ years’ of experience working in a SQL Server environment. - 1+ years’ development experience with SQL Server Integration Services. - Knowledge of Big Data Technology’s or Analytical tools a plus
