Book Editor/Writer

The Book Editor/Writer will be responsible for turning curriculum specifications and objectives into engaging and age-appropriate fiction and non-fiction children’s books and book-related formats.
- Hands-on editing of book manuscripts
- Writing of book manuscripts
- Revision of manuscripts based on feedback from approvers
- Brainstorming and developing ideas
- Minimum of five years hands-on experience editing fiction and/or non-fiction book or magazine content for children (including line editing, copyediting, and proofreading)
- Experience as a published author of children’s content
- Working knowledge of appropriate vocabulary and text structures for each age/grade-level from Pre-K through 2nd grade (ages 4 – 7)
- Strong working knowledge of The Chicago Manual of Style
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to do quality work under tight deadlines
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
