Summary
AGCO is currently seeking a Software and Controls Engineer to join our Electronics team in Hesston, KS. The Software and Controls Engineer will mainly be responsible for machine control systems and software architecture design. Additionally, the Software and Controls Engineer will work closely with Mechanical Engineering teams, and will be an effective member of a cross-functional global team.
Responsibilities
* Understand control theory and apply it to mobile machinery * Design and implement robust and scalable software architectures for use in mobile machinery * Adhere to software design and coding standards * Stay up to date on mobile machinery communication protocols and standards, and implement new communication protocols when necessary * Provide input to create efficient, user-friendly graphical user interfaces for mobile machinery
Ideal Candidate
**Required Qualifications of the Software and Controls Engineer:** * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or equivalent experience * 2+ years of C/C++ programming experience * 2+ years of experience developing embedded controls systems with off road or agricultural equipment **Preferred Qualifications of the Software and Controls Engineer:** * Knowledge of J1939 CAN communications * Experience utilizing version control software, such as Polarion or SVN * Experience working with agriculture equipment, preferably harvesting machinery
