Specialty Clinical Pharmacy Director

The Specialty Clinical Pharmacy Director position is responsible for leadership, oversight, and development of specialty pharmacy programs for all Aetna Medicaid plans. This position is responsible for the overall specialty pharmacy strategy from ideation to implementation.

• Build the comprehensive specialty pharmacy strategy at the enterprise and plan level
• Work with Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) and Medical Economics team to build and enhance specialty pharmacy reporting
• Serve as the specialty pharmacy SME
• Develop and implements a specialty network strategy to support our members
• Develop and implements a clinical specialty strategy and site of care strategy to best support our members
• Develop specialty language for communications/member notifications for specialty pharmacy programs
• Identify opportunities from data analysis for formulary opportunities and trend management of specialty drugs
• Provide specialty pharmacy support to the National Medicaid Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee
• Be responsible for the biosimilar strategy and white paper development

Background/Experience desired:

• Pharmacist with strong Managed Medicaid Background (5+ years)
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
• Proven ability to work as a part of a larger team
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills
• Medical and Pharmacy Data/Reporting experience a plus
• Program development experience required

Education

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Doctor of Pharmacy.

Licenses And Certifications

Pharmacy/Registered Pharmacist (RPh) is desired

Functional Experiences

• Clinical pharmacy program development experience required
• Strategic thinking, implementation and leadership skills required
• Five (5) years of varied clinical experience required
• Three (3) years of work experience in Managed Medicaid is preferred
• This position requires experience with Medicaid applicable regulations
• Specialty pharmacy and medical data experience and specialty pharmacy program development a plus
