Responsibilities
* Inspects and tests machinery and equipment for proper operation, wear and repair requirements * Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine * Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts * Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery * Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment * Performs general tasks on heavy mechanical installations and repairs * Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment * Installs, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers * Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools * Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts * Ability to prioritize maintenance issues working in a rapid paced environment * Completes workorders by priority to ensure efficient operations * Work and communicate in a professional manner with all business associates * Maintain a clean and organized work area * Follow the required standard work and achieve the published standard work goals * Work and communicate in a professional manner with all business associates
Ideal Candidate
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience * Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must possess strong basic shop math skills * Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations * Basic computer skills with internet experience * Strong mechanical aptitude/ability with working knowledge of production equipment using hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical power and controls. * Knowledge of TPM methodologies and procedures * Knowledge of Lean Principles, QDC, 5S and Continuous Improvement Process
