Summary
We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build. The Water Business Unit of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Mechanical Engineer to work in our municipal Water/Wastewater Treatment group located in Edmonton, AB.
Responsibilities
* Design of mechanical systems including selection of pumps, valves, etc., to support the treatment process or project * Preparation of engineering drawings and specifications * Construction contract administration and construction field services * Responsible for managing the mechanical design of projects including technical staff * Check and ensure quality and adherence to standards of work
Ideal Candidate
**Minimum Requirements** * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field * 10+ years of project experience in the design of mechanical systems for municipal clients, including: water/wastewater treatment, water pumping and storage systems, and wastewater pumping through all project phases, including: planning, design, tender, and contract administration * Professional Engineer registered in Alberta * Experience in design of water and wastewater facilities * Demonstrate good written and oral communication skills * Must possess a valid driver’s license **Preferred Qualifications** * 15+ years of project experience in the design of mechanical systems for municipal clients, including: water/wastewater treatment, water pumping and storage systems, and wastewater pumping through all project phases, including: planning, design, tender, and contract administration * 5+ years management experience of design teams * Experience in working with clients in both public and private sectors * Previous consulting experience * Strong interpersonal and communication skills
