Nurse Practitioner - Cardiology

Nurse Practitioners provide medical services in collaboration with a physician, for patients in primary care as well as in medical and surgical specialty areas.

• Obtains and documents patient history as appropriate to chief complaint or reason for visit.
• Conducts relevant physical exam and evaluates patient, documenting pertinent positive and negative findings.
• Diagnoses and treats disease and manages chronic illness.
• Prescribes medication in accordance with New York State and federal law.
• Orders appropriate laboratory, radiological and special examinations or tests; interprets results.
• Provides preventative health services, including health education and counseling.
• Collaborates with other clinicians and staff members to ensure continuity of care of patients.
• Performs other job-related duties as required.

• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner education program registered by the NYS Education Department required
• Master’s Degree preferred
• 1-3 years of related experience preferred
• Experience working with diverse populations in an ambulatory healthcare setting preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
• Licensed and currently registered as a Registered Nurse by NYS required
• Current New York State Registration as Nurse Practitioner required
• Current Board Certification as an NP from a NYS approved accrediting body required
• Cardiology experience preferred
