Nurse Practitioner - Cardiology

Nurse Practitioners provide medical services in collaboration with a physician, for patients in primary care as well as in medical and surgical specialty areas.

* Obtains and documents patient history as appropriate to chief complaint or reason for visit. * Conducts relevant physical exam and evaluates patient, documenting pertinent positive and negative findings. * Diagnoses and treats disease and manages chronic illness. * Prescribes medication in accordance with New York State and federal law. * Orders appropriate laboratory, radiological and special examinations or tests; interprets results. * Provides preventative health services, including health education and counseling. * Collaborates with other clinicians and staff members to ensure continuity of care of patients. * Performs other job-related duties as required.

* Bachelor’s Degree required * Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner education program registered by the NYS Education Department required * Master’s Degree preferred * 1-3 years of related experience preferred * Experience working with diverse populations in an ambulatory healthcare setting preferred * Excellent verbal and written communication skills required * Licensed and currently registered as a Registered Nurse by NYS required * Current New York State Registration as Nurse Practitioner required * Current Board Certification as an NP from a NYS approved accrediting body required * Cardiology experience preferred
