Business Analyst - IT Infrastructure and Application Services

The Business Analyst is responsible for preparing requirements, specifications, business processes, and recommendations in compliance with standards, policies and methodologies. Gather and synthesize functional and non-functional business requirements ensuring alignment to business strategy. Execute gap analyses between business requirements and best practices. Develop business cases, process and business test strategy, case, and execution. Expertise needed in IT Infrastructure and Application Services - Optimal candidate would have worked in the utility business and be aware of network and security restrictions related to the utility business. BA assignments may include gathering requirements for: Office 365, DataStage Upgrade, Role Based Access worksheet, Network Vintage.

**In order of priority:** * Office 365 * Write stories for Dev team supporting Identity Management and Role-based access controls * DataStage Upgrade * Vintage of some equipment (primarily network)

* Four+ years of BA experience to document functional and technical requirements * Typically a bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering Management, or equivalent work experience in related discipline. * 2 years of experience in business analysis or process development role. * Certification: IIBA® Certified Business Analysis Professional™, or PMI-Professional in Business Analysis * Mastery of requirements elicitation and analysis techniques gives the ability to: * Facilitate requirements elicitation activities * Focus on underlying business needs * Critically evaluate and reconcile information gathered from multiple sources * Identify inconsistencies and missing functionality * Decompose high-level information into clear, concise, and complete user stories * Define acceptance criteria using a behavior-driven development (BDD) approach * Identify interrelationships of user stories for value-driven backlog management * As a Business Analyst, deliver business value as quickly as possible which may include applying agile practices, principles and lean thinking. * Most importantly, the ability to listen, ask the right questions, and think on one’s feet allows one to adapt techniques, work processes, and communication style to meet team and stakeholder expectations. * In It Infrastructure (Network Equipment, Routers & Switches, Routing Knowledge) preferred
