Summary
The Assessment Product Manager is responsible for guiding Achieve3000’s assessment product line through all stages of development, from concept to launch and beyond. This includes: identifying ways to better meet the needs of customers, whether through new products or new features to existing products; building business cases for new products or features; creating and communicating the product vision throughout the organization; serving as product owner (the customer’s voice) on cross-functional development teams; working with the marketing department to successfully launch new products or features; managing reliability and validity studies; monitoring customer usage and feedback; and interacting closely with internal departments and external partners to ensure that the company’s assessment products meet educational standards.
Responsibilities
* Stay abreast of the educational assessment market and the needs of customers * Obtain input from project stakeholders, including executive management and external partners * Create a product vision that clearly articulates product benefits * Communicate product vision to cross-functional Scrum team; provide ongoing direction to the Scrum team to produce releasable software * Work with external partners on reliability and validity studies * Train Sales, Implementation and Customer Support on new products and features and support them post-launch
Ideal Candidate
* Graduate degree in educational psychology or a related field with strong emphasis on assessment * Minimum of 3 years of product management experience in a K12 assessment environment * Minimum of 3 years of experience in psychometrics, with an emphasis on educational measurement preferred * Experience with agile development methods, preferably Scrum * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize time with minimal supervision
