Ace Hardware was founded in 1924 by Richard Hesse, E. Gunnard Lindquist, Frank Burke, Oscar Fisher, and William Stauber in Chicago, Illinois. Ace Hardware, incorporated in 1927 as Ace Stores Inc., was founded to provide a centralized purchasing organization to supply the founders' and members' stores.

We are seeking outgoing associates to welcome and assist customers, stock shelves, perform inventory control, use the computers to cashier, place orders and keep records, help keep the store tidy and have fun! Ideal candidates for this position should enjoy working outdoors and have a strong desire to assist customers in fulfilling their gardening and landscaping goals. Applicants with prior nursery, sales, landscaping, or organic gardening experience are strongly encouraged to apply. Most important responsibility is providing legendary customer service in a sometimes stressful and busy environment.

• Excellent customer service skills including a positive “can do” attitude
• Punctual and reliable
• Ability to multi-task
• Willing to handle all requests or customer service issues promptly and professionally
• Home improvement knowledge a plus
• Ability to lift 20-40 pounds consistently throughout the day
