Summary
The Abbott Informatics Division in Hollywood, FL has an opening for Associate Validation Analyst. This individual will perform different levels of testing which may include boundary/unit testing; system testing; usability/GUI testing; regression testing and user acceptance testing. Support development of help systems and application system documentation. Report software defects and collaborate with developers to assist with issue resolution.
Responsibilities
Execute pre\-designed tests as well as ad\-hoc/"freestyle" testing\.; Generate and update the following based on predefined functional requirements: Create test cases by identifying data needed to execute tests and determining expected results\. Create and update traceability matrices to track software requirements to steps in test cases\. Identify gaps between documents and correct them\. Isolate defects in the software and report them in the quality tracking system\. Interact with developers to help issue resolution\. Track individual test execution progress for effective status reporting\. Support creation; modification and review of test plan and test summary documents\.

**Position Accountability / Scope:** * Adheres to established policies. * Work with Quality Assurance Manager to maintain quality assurance. * Ability to learn and understand QC/QA principles and methodologies. * Ability to follow industry standards and regulations to documentation and testing practices. * Maintains productive relationships with peers and vertical members. * Perform testing in close cooperation with technical team and/or QA. * Typically works in smaller teams on single-site projects. * Ability to work with moderate supervision. * Analytical and logical thinking. * Ability to identify and analyze complex issues and develop solutions. * Willing to challenge existing methods and procedures with the intent of improving them. * Good communication skills; team player; fast learner. * Practice time-management and task prioritization to work on several projects simultaneously. * Willingness to do what is needed to complete all deliverables before product release. * Ability to adhere to a strict set of industry and regulatory standards. * Capable of developing or assisting with developing SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) documents including FRS; URS; SDS; and Traceability Matrices. * Ability to perform and deliver within tight deadlines. * Occasionally requires subjective decisions that impacts a task or project. * Medium complexity work - requires ability to process and analyze new information quickly. * Errors or failure to achieve expected results may result in the expenditure of more resources than were planned or not meeting delivery due dates **Minimum Education:** * Bachelor degree OR 2 yrs experience in documenting software OR successful experience as a non-exempt employee or as a contractor with STARLIMS. * No advanced degree required.
