Summary
Responsible for daily receiving/shipping. Process customer orders and preparing packages for shipment. Loads and unloads packages from trucks. Operates a forklift to move goods and materials to their proper location. Verifies and maintains records on incoming and outgoing shipments.
Responsibilities
* Operates a forklift to load and unload trucks * Unloads materials and goods from trucks and moves the packages to their proper location * Loads goods onto trucks for shipment * Verifies and maintains records on incoming and outgoing shipments * Responsible for ensuring that products meet customer orders and specifications (special shipping instructions) * Communicates issues to team leader/Supervisor * Responsible for housekeeping in work area * Assists with cycle counting * Communicates verbal and written shipping instructions * Maintains accurate inventory accounting in PeopleSoft IA * Handles product returns * Communicates issues to team leader/Supervisor * Responsible for housekeeping in work areas * Communicates verbal and written shipping instructions * Performs all duties in conformance with the plant’s Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) plan * Regular and predictable attendance is a responsibility of the employee * Works all scheduled overtime * Transfer of materials and finished good between warehouse and manufacturing floor; use company truck for transfer. Driving record will be required * Strives for continuous improvements in both processes and people through un-relenting quality improvement and cost reduction * Empowered to make decisions in support of the manufacturing process * Performs other duties as assigned to promote a team effort in achieving department goals
Ideal Candidate
* Must have basic math and computer skills. Must be able to operate powered mobile equipment. Knowledge of the receiving process * Some shipping/receiving experience preferred * Performs routine tasks requiring an average level of judgment to make simple decisions. Complies with instructions or prescribed standards. Verifies and maintains records on incoming and outgoing shipments * Operates moderately complex powered mobile equipment in tight quarters with a moderate level of pedestrian traffic present * Operator follows an established routine and uses alternate courses of action, when needed. Some damage to or loss of materials or products is possible during operations * Employee is accountable to prevent damage in the use of tools or equipment. Operates a forklift to move goods and materials to the proper location * Mental and visual attention is required to safely operate forklifts in moderate pedestrian traffic and to minimize accidents or mistakes when moving goods and materials * Light physical exertion required to handle goods and materials of light or medium weights. Forklift operation. Light housekeeping including sweeping and cleaning work areas **Basic Qualifications:** * Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher * Previous Shipping / Receiving experience
Compensation and Working Conditions

Working Conditions

Exposed to powered industrial vehicle (PIV) movement. Low exposure to moving machinery. Minimal risk of accidents or injury through the usage of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as protective eyewear and footwear.
