3M is seeking a Manufacturing Product Engineer for the Traffic Safety and Security Division located in Brownwood, TX. Be part of what’s next!
The person hired for the position of Manufacturing Product Engineer will support the Traffic Safety Systems Division (TSSD) business within the 3M Brownwood facility. The person will apply broad knowledge and extensive experience to deal with variations in work conditions and operations to solve complex and diverse problems to deliver results for EHS, quality, customer service, cost reductions and new product development.
- Provide product support for MVSS and Secure Material businesses
- Lead cross-functionally with sourcing, supply chain, laboratory and marketing to deliver the business operating plans
- Participate on new product development teams to take products through the commercialization process to launch
- Initiate and lead Lean Six Sigma, Product and Process Understanding (PPU) and cost improvement projects
- Manage strategic source of supply projects
- Manage documentation of product cost, quality, process understanding and specifications
- Communicate at all levels of the organization to drive positive change and improvement
- Willingness to be on-call for product and process support
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited university
- One (1) year working in a laboratory or manufacturing environment with Product Engineering responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited university or Three (3) years working in a laboratory or manufacturing environment with Product Engineering responsibilities
- Experience in coating and drying roll goods in web line applications
- Experience leading cross functional teams
- Six sigma project leadership experience
- Effective project management skills with proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
- Ability to understand and apply lean, analytical and statistics tools
- Good communication, both verbal and written, influencing skills and project management skills
