Summary
3M is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for the Commercial Solutions Division located in Nevada, MO. The person hired for the position of Manufacturing Engineer will provide technical and process leadership for manufacturing of graphic film and liners. Responsibilities include project leadership for customer and manufacturing improvements. Will work across multiple processes, departments, and focus factories on product or process related issues and resolve customer quality issues in order to ensure customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
* Effectively introduce new materials to plant-scale production; develop product and process understanding * Identify, drive, and implement manufacturing improvements * Provide technical leadership for troubleshooting manufacturing problems * Foster and cultivate an extensive network of support (laboratory, quality, financial, manufacturing, engineering, sales and marketing) to facilitate understanding, resolution of issues, and timely implementation of new processes and technologies * Provide appropriate and timely documentation of work and work instructions * Ability to perform root cause analysis and apply systematic problem solving skills * Flexible to provide support for round-the-clock manufacturing operations as needed * Actively participate in relevant corporate programs/initiatives, comply with professional and quality standards, comply with corporate policies and procedures, and act in a manner consistent with 3M’s values and ethical standards
Ideal Candidate
**Basic Qualifications:** Bachelor's degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited university **Preferred Qualifications:** * Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering * Minimum of one (1) year experience in a manufacturing setting * Experience with Visual Defect Detection Systems * Experience with Process Control and Data Management Systems * Ability to apply statistical tools and complete data analysis (SPC, DOE, MiniTab, Excel) * Experience using Lean Six Sigma tools and methodology for problem solving, project management, control plans and/or continuous improvement * Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment and manage a number of concurrent projects * Excellent problem solving and analytical skills * Excellent collaborative and communication skills
