FP&A Financial Analyst

3M is seeking a Financial Analyst for the corporate Financial Planning & Analysis organization located in Maplewood, MN. Ready to be part of what’s next? The person hired for the position of FP&A Financial Analyst will have an excellent opportunity to shape the future of financial analysis at 3M. The purpose of this position will be to enhance 3M Finance’s use of data, statistical analysis, and predictive analytics in financial planning while providing counsel to the corporate finance FP&A team and finance leadership. This position will work closely with FP&A, Business Group finance teams, and Internal reporting teams.

- Leads creation of the use of data analytics for 3M FP&A Finance - Develops analysis and opportunities for driving growth and performance improvements in 3M’s portfolio - Monitors economic outlook and creates relevant economic presentations for corporate updates - Implements new practices and methodologies using statistical analysis or data analytics for financial planning and financial performance measurement - Supports FP&A Financial Manager, Corporate Controller, and CFO with ad hoc analysis - Assist FP&A organization in development of strategic plan, operating plan, and rolling forecasts

- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university - Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance, statistics, and/or economics - Minimum of 5 years of experience using Microsoft Excel - Experience with statistical analysis, predictive analytics, and/or data analytics **Preferred Qualifications:** - Master's degree in Finance, Statistics, and/or Economics - Relevant experience using software for data analytics, statistical analysis, or predictive analytics - Knowledge of simulation methods, such as monte carlo - Strong financial acumen - SAP experience - Thinks broadly of intersections between business, financial, and economic data - Ability to translate data into meaningful financial insights and analysis - Ability to be a change agent for driving new methods of analysis - Solid communication skills, ability to interact with all levels within organization - Self-starter willing to develop new ideas and thoughts in white space area
