Summary
3M is seeking an Electrical Engineer for the Electronics & Energy Business Group (EEBG), Film Manufacturing & Supply Chain Organization (FMSCO) Division. The person hired for the position of Electrical Engineer will be a key resource for the 3M Menomonie, WI manufacturing plant. This individual will be a member of the site’s Plant Engineering organization.
Responsibilities
- Responsibility for all facility electrical power distribution. - Working with all electrical contractors and engineers. - Providing technical leadership to increase equipment and facility reliability and availability. - Supporting activities of various multi-function teams including the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of facilities and equipment. - Supporting the development and implementation of maintenance procedures and techniques for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the plant utilizing TPM and OAMM tools. - Supporting equipment/project scope, purchase, installation and commissioning activities for equipment renewal efforts. - Analyzing equipment performance data and direct improvement and optimization of equipment. - Initiating and implementing programs to improve reliability, productivity and/or cost utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools. - Documenting and communicating activities and results to customers, team members, and management. - Providing positive support and active participation in plant safety, quality, and productivity programs. - Following and promoting corporate business conduct, EHS policies and practices, Engineering guidelines, standards, and specifications. - Additional accountabilities as assigned by Plant Engineering Manager.
Ideal Candidate
**Basic Qualifications:** - Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university - Minimum of one (1) year manufacturing environment experience (internship/Co-op experience applies) **Preferred Qualifications:** - Master’s Electrician License - Familiarity with industrial power distribution such as transformers, electrical substations, distribution panels and other site utilities - Knowledge and experience in a manufacturing site working with maintenance and resident engineering - Self-starting, inquisitive individual with initiative to investigate, research, and identify the root cause of problems, and initiate corrective action - Proven track record of performance in process improvement - Demonstrated project leadership skills - Good written and oral communication skills - Ability to work with a cross functional team in the manufacturing organization - Proven ability to work with and influence people with cooperative negotiating skills - Demonstrated ability to clearly define and achieve goals

Working Conditions

Travel may include up to 10% domestic and Relocation is authorized.
