3M is seeking an Electrical and Controls Mechanic for the Electronics and Energy Business Group located in Decatur, AL. Ready to be part of what’s next?

• Install, modify and upgrade electrical, electronic and computer equipment.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions in operating equipment
• Perform tests and inspections of equipment and preventative maintenance to ensure proper operation of equipment
• Calibrate and certify shop and process equipment
• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair AC and DC electrical systems, PLC’s, HMI’s, motors, controls, VFD’s and related equipment
• Assist in developing plans to correct equipment deficiencies
• Maintain good record keeping systems
• Oversee contracted work, and work with multiple groups around the plant
• This position may require multi-craft certification training which will be provided by 3M. The training must be completed within one year of the course start date
• Other duties as assigned or necessary

Basic Qualifications:

• Possess a high school diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution
• Minimum four (4) years of experience in industrial electrical and controls maintenance OR Associate Degree (AAS) in electrical technology with experience in a work study program

Preferred Qualifications:

• Possess an Associate Degree in electrical technology
• Possess an Associate Degree in mechanical technology
• Minimum four (4) years of Multi Craft experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance
