Summary
3M is seeking to employ a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer for the Industrial and Transportation Business Group at the manufacturing facility located in Springfield, MO.
Responsibilities
The person hired for the position of Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for safe and efficient manufacturing of several products to meet customer quality, customer service and business expectations. - Driving Safety through participating in appropriate PSM elements - Driving quality policy adherence and continuous improvements in the effectiveness of our Quality Management System - Driving cost and productivity improvements by leading Lean Six Sigma projects with a variety of toolsets, including: DMAIC, standard work development, tier reviews and kaizens - Proactive engagement and involvement in daily operations to meet service targets, including direction/support of maintenance and division engineering activities - Proactive engagement and involvement inventory control efforts to meet inventory targets - Realize growth opportunities by guiding new product introduction efforts and completing experimental runs - Participating on cross-functional teams associated with the job function - Representing 3M Springfield IATD during internal and external customer interactions and audits
Ideal Candidate
**Basic Qualifications:** - Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering from an accredited institution - Minimum three (3) years experience in a manufacturing environment **Preferred Qualifications:** - Experience with Lean Six Sigma application - Six Sigma Black Belt or Lean Certification - Proven success with implementing improvements in EHS, quality, service, costs, productivity and yield - 4+ years experiences with production or engineering in a manufacturing setting. - Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a similar Engineering field from an accredited University - Excellent communication skills with a wide range of target audiences consisting of Executive Leadership, Plant Leadership, Hourly Operations Team members and peers.
