Summary

The Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant provides physical therapy services to patients in the home, as prescribed by the attending physician and under the direct supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist.

Responsibilities
  • Assists the Licensed Physical Therapist in treating patients to relieve pain, and/or develop or restore
  • function and independence to maintain maximum performance.
  • Accurately records and reports the patient's reaction to treatment and/or any changes in the
  • patient's condition to supervisor. Writes progress notes on the date of the visit and incorporates in
  • McKesson and downloads / communicates visits twice daily.
  • Collaborates with Physical Therapist to meet 100% productivity.
  • Instructs patients and their families in the use of proshetic, orthotic, and assistive devices (canes,
  • walkers, wheelchairs, etc.) and other treatment modelties as directed by the Licensed Physical
  • Therapist.
  • Attends staff meeting, rehab meetings and in-service programs.
  • Collaborates and communicates with other interdisciplinary team members, as necessary, to
  • ensure proper scheduling and treatment of patients.

  • Assists with orientation of new staff, as needed.
  • Attends the appropriate hours of inservice as required.
  • Adheres to the Agency's personnel policies and Compliance Plan.
  • Willingly performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Displays a high degree of courtesy, tact, and knowledge of services provided by the agency in all
  • contact with staff, patients, and visitors.
Ideal Candidate
  • Graduate of an approved Physical Therapy Assistant curriculum.
  • One-year of clinical experience preferred.
  • Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant currently licensed to practice phyiscal therapy in North Carolina.
  • Maintain current CPR certification (BCLS)
