Summary
We are seeking candidates in multiple locations to serve as a primary technical field contact for 10x Genomics’ customers. The Field Bioinformatics Scientist is responsible for new installations, customer trainings, troubleshooting support and for providing general Next-Gen Sequencing support to 10x customers. This individual will need experience performing quality control review and troubleshooting of Next-Gen Sequencing data sets
Responsibilities
* Coordinate customer bioinformatics training and installation as needed. * Troubleshoot issues related to user's data analysis and software. * Manage escalation of technical issues that cannot be dealt with by other personnel. Interpret customer needs and identify if the responsibility for a problem resolution falls to sales personnel or other company personnel. * Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers in assigned territory. * Help to maintain and increase product usage, and support key account and strategic sales efforts through technical presentations and demonstrations. * Assist sales or marketing on new strategic sales initiatives requiring both technical depth and market knowledge. * Provide strategic and competitive feedback to Marketing and product development teams. * Mentor and train other members of the applications team.
Ideal Candidate
* Prior field experience supporting customers in a highly technical field required. 5-8 years biotech experience preferred. * Recognized deep technical expert in Next-Gen Sequencing and bioinformatics. * Critical-thinking skills and experience in managing/interpreting and troubleshooting large Next-Gen Sequencing datasets. * Understanding and usage of Next-Gen data analysis tool packages. * Independently works on highly complex problems requiring analysis of multiple variables. * Uses independent judgment in developing methods, techniques or evaluation criteria for obtaining results. * Demonstrated written and verbal communication and training skills. * Demonstrated understanding of commonly-used analysis software applications for Next-Gen Sequencing. * Clear vision of and commitment to providing outstanding customer service. * Must be willing to travel up to 80%. * BA/BS/MS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or Genetics.
