Systems Security Engineer

• Designing and implementing advanced security techniques in parallel and distributed systems environments
• Mining security data, performing deep analysis to discover unrealized threats, in order to provide better transparency and more accurate metrics.
• Developing new and innovative methods for automating security log analysis and event processing.
• Implementing identity and key management infrastructure.
• Implement HIPAA, SSAE16 compliance initiatives
• Understand and review technical documents such as operating system and application system logs, code snippets, and information security best practice/regulatory guidelines.
• Work collaboratively with developers as well as non-technical business units.

Education & Experience

• STEM degree
• 5+ years of system security, cryptography and analysis
• 4+ years of managing enterprise security

Skills

• Interfacing and deployment of directory services (ie Active Directory, or LDAP)
• Strong understanding of cryptography algorithms
• Experience in creating and evolving information security policy and procedure.
• Understanding of parallel and distributed systems, and multi-tier web applications

Communication

• communicate clearly and have strong, positive interpersonal skills;
• feel comfortable presenting to a group including management;
• have the ability to articulate in his/her ideas, consider options presented by others and reach an informed, balanced technical opinion;
• create clear, concise memos/summaries, design documentation and presentations
• demonstrate the ability to review the technical documentation provided by others and provide constructive comments.
